With Covid 19 numbers ramping up, you might want to consider a creative mask-free date night at home. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Go ahead and say it," We're home all the time, how can that be fun or romantic?" Well, don't worry! I've got you covered. You can create an out-of-this-world romantic date right from the comfort of your own home. All you need to do is pick up a few items from the store and gather a few things from around your home to create a date night space all your friends will be jealous of. Of course, the first thing you want to do is go to Pinterest. Create a board of an aesthetic that you would like to create for your date night to remember. After selecting a few pics for inspiration, it's time to get to work.

I love to start with the table first because this is the area where you guys will spend the most time looking into each other's eyes, so let's make it count. Let's start with a nice tablecloth. Tablecloths alone can set the mood. It's the difference between eating takeout burgers at the table with your friend to creating a space that makes you have your own exclusive restaurant. I know what you're thinking, "You ladies are event planners so it's easy for you!" No, friend, it can be easy for you too. Dollar tree is the perfect place to get inexpensive pieces for your special night. Hopefully, you own a tablecloth that fits your aesthetic, if not run to Target. Now that you've chosen a tablecloth go grab 2 chargers from the Dollar Tree. This is another piece that will elevate your table appearance. You can choose to use your own plates that you have handily stored away in your kitchen cabinets, or you can opt to grab those from Dollar tree also. While you are there don't forget to grab 2 wine glasses. Now I'm not a drinker, so you can choose your own beverage to pour. I like to select small bottles of sparkling grape juice, also found at the Dollar Tree. Other things you may want to pick up while you're there are candles, candle holders, and a clear vase for your centerpiece. Now you can choose to pick up florals your flower arrangement from the Dollar Tree or live it up by purchasing fresh flowers from your local grocery store, or florist. You will also need to splurge a little on cotton napkins if you don't own any yet. The key to making this date night successful is having one reoccurring theme. This could be the main color that you have chosen. You want to make sure that your look is cohesive. I have selected a few pictures to help you set the scene.

So here's the skinny on what you will need if you're a person that likes list.

  • Tablecloth

  • Charger Plates

  • Candles

  • Candle Holders

  • Wine Glasses

  • Vase

  • Flowers

  • Cotton Napkins

Now that you have your table decor together, let's talk about additional things that will create a romantic ambiance. Of course, you want music! Most upscale restaurants play soft music to elevate a romantic setting and create a space where couples can speak privately. Yes, we want you to be able to whisper sweet nothing to each other over dinner. The sense smell is another thing that creates happy memories, so ladies put on your red dress, your high heels, and your sweet perfume. Guys this goes for you too. Cologne is definitely the way to a woman's heart, coupled with a nicely dressed man, and bam you have romance!

After dinner, don't forget dessert. Since it's chilly, you should have a few blankets handy to create a space on the floor or couch to cuddle and have dessert. I know you may say why the floor? Well sitting on the floor is a youthful thing to do and it creates a space to be vulnerable. It's also a great place for a good massage. Here are some photos to show you how to create this magical space. Have fun and make it your own. If you need extra help, you might want to consider downloading our free DIY Planner Ebook.
