I know many may not associate romance with barns, but we had the pleasure of designing a rustic romantic wedding this past weekend that would turn heads and shed a bright light on wedding barn venues. Check out how we did it below.

This picturesque location offers a tranquil setting for this style of wedding. With its lush meadows, it's a magical place to celebrate life's most cherished moments. From weddings to birthdays and everything in between, Starlight Meadow sets the stage for memories that will last a lifetime. And let me just say the owner Jeremy Starlight is chef's kiss. Super helpful and accommodating. He was such a pleasure to work with from being to end. His venue hosts an array of amenities and 5 ceremony locations to choose from.

2: Rustic Wedding Barn Venue: Romantic Wedding Altar

The wedding altar is a sacred space. It's the place where you proclaim your love and commitment to each other before your closest friends and family. It's also the biggest focal point of a wedding. All eyes will see the couple and the altar they stand in front of. Every couple dreams of their perfect wedding day, and the altar is the centerpiece of that special moment.

So how did we transform this gem of a venue into a romantic wedding barn? Well, the first thing we did was to start with the altar. We created a beautiful 8ft. circle backdrop layered with greenery, using eucalyptus and ruscus. We continued to add a romantic fill by adding a splash of color by including roses, peonies, and baby's breath. We situated this romantic altar up against Starlight Meadow's beautiful rustic barn doors. Wine barrels were placed on either side to really cultivate the rustic decor look. Atop the wine barrels, we added beautiful candelabras and eucalyptus to really seal the look of romance for our beautiful bride to stand beside her groom to declare their love and devotion to each other.

3. Rustic Wedding Barn Venue: Romantic Guest Tables

Guest tables are an essential part of a wedding. When it came to creating the perfect guest tables, we started with selecting white tablecloths to balance the ambiance of the dark rustic barn ceiling and doors. Next, we arranged the seating in a way that promoted conversation and interaction between guests. Finally, we added a few meaningful touches to our tables to add a pop of color and visual appeal. We choose to do a low-setting floral bouquet and a mixture of high and low candles. We also added antique gold chargers, and we placed napkins and personalized seating cards for each guest. We made sure that guests felt welcomed and appreciated when they arrive at their tables.

4: Rustic Wedding Barn Venue: Romantic Sweetheart Table

Of course, we HAD to make a romantic spot for our lovely couple to take their seats as husband and wife! The sweetheart table is a beautiful way to make sure the bride and groom have a special place at the reception! This small table, usually just for the two of them, gives the couple a moment to savor their newly married status and take in all the warmth and love their friends and family have gathered to celebrate with them. It's a chance to share a few private moments and reflect on the love they have for each other.

We decided to drape their table with cheesecloth to add a bit of rustic to our romantic sweetheart table. Then we added floral centerpieces and candles. For extra pizzazz, we added candles to the floor in front of their table as well. For this bride and groom really embrace the romantic theme heavily. With added layers of beautiful draping to the table and the barn doors behind them. we also added florals and candles to the table and the base of the table. And to add just a tad more romance we framed out the barn doors behind the table with lightweight drapes, pulled back by a tie made of greenery. This created a perfectly framed opportunity for their photographer.

5: Rustic Wedding Barn Venue: Cake Table

I don't know about you, but the cake-cutting portion of the wedding is my FAVORITE time. Since it is a special part of the wedding day, it was equally important to make it look beautiful. When it comes to wedding cake tables, the possibilities are endless! Since our bride chose a beautiful naked cake we wanted to make sure that it got the attention that it deserved. Instead of a usual table, we decided to use a wooden spool and layer it with greenery to create our rustic romantic-themed cake table. We topped it with gold dessert cutlery, and dessert stands. The end result became something I know the couple will cherish for years to come.

Creating a romantic rustic-style wedding can be a challenge, but with the right touches and attention to detail, you can create a beautiful and romantic atmosphere that your guests will remember for years to come. From the wine barrels at the entrance to the rustic sweetheart table, every detail should be carefully chosen to create an inviting and homey atmosphere. With the addition of candles, flowers, and greenery, you can transform any plain space into a romantic and warm setting. The key is to have fun with your creative touches and add touches of romance and whimsy to bring your wedding vision to life.
